The library in the Institute has recorded a lot of achievements. These includes:

1. WORKSHOPS:
The division conducted two national workshops with participants from across the country. The first held on September 11-13, 2006, had the title, ”Steps in Establishing A Digital Library”. The second workshop held on Oct. 26-28, 2009, under the theme: Local Content Approach To Information Digitization.”

PUBLICATIONS

The Division compiled and published: Inventory of Publications and Research Activities 1971-1994” volume 1, published in 2006. A second publication was released in 2009 Annotated Bibliography on Cassava Production, Processing and Marketing from 1980-2005.

NRCRI GAZETTES:
The division published the Institute gazettes since 1998 till date. These include gazette numbers:-

2. DIGITIZATION OF THE LIBRARY:

3. TRAINING OF RESEARCH OFFICERS ON TEEAL AND DIGITAL LIBRARY:
In 2010, the Division trained the Institute Research Officers on the use and benefits of the databases. TEEAL-The Essential Agricultural Library. This database helps users search, browse, locate and read full-text journal articles from over 130 journals in the agricultural science.

4. TRAINING OF I.T STUDENTS:
The Division trained Industrial Training students who come from various tertiary institutes like, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State University, Uturu, Imo State University, Owerri, Federal University of Technology, Owerri, University of Nigeria Nsukka.

5. SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN MOUA, UMUDIKE:
The Institute signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with neighboring Michael University of Agriculture. The Division plays significant role to assist the Institute fulfill its obligation within the context of the MOU. The Institute Library facilities are at the disposal of both students and lecturers of the University.

6. PRESENT ACTIVITIES:

II. Production of abstracts of institute’s mandate on all programmes and divisions.

FUTURE PROSPECT
To have in place a world-class research library with the wherewithal to further enrich the Institute’s research output through the provision of researcher-customized information service delivery.
